Van sonde naar zelfvertrouwen: hoe Tubie Fashion ontstond

From Probe to Confidence: How Tubie Fashion Was Created

In April 2022, my life suddenly changed. Due to a stomach disorder, I got a feeding tube. And honestly? I found that difficult. A plaster on your face makes something visible that you might prefer to keep to yourself. I felt insecure, got curious looks and uncomfortable questions.

But after a while I decided to share my story on social media. Simple, honest and open. To my surprise I got a lot of reactions. Recognition, support and stories from people who are going through the same thing. Those reactions touched me and gave me courage.

I wanted to do something positive with my experience. Something that would help others. So I started designing. Bandages that don’t look medical, but are cheerful and colorful. That really suit you. Not hidden, but worn with pride.

And when I saw how many children also struggle with uncertainty around medical devices, the idea for Tubie Friends was born. Soft cuddly toys that help children get used to their tube or PEG in a playful way.

That's how Tubie Fashion came into being. Just at home at the kitchen table. From one personal need something bigger grew.

My mission is to help everyone with a feeding tube or medical device to feel beautiful, safe and confident again.

Whether you are just starting your tubie adventure or have years of experience, you are not alone. And you deserve to be seen. Just the way you are.
