My Story
In April 2022, my life suddenly changed considerably. Due to my stomach disorder gastroparesis, I got a feeding tube. And I honestly found that quite difficult. A plaster on your face makes something visible that you would rather keep to yourself. I felt insecure and sometimes got curious looks and uncomfortable questions.
After a while I decided to share my story on social media. Just honestly and openly. I never expected the reactions I got. So much recognition and support from people who are going through the same thing as me. It turned out I was not alone in my search for more self-confidence.
Those experiences gave me courage to do something positive with my situation. I didn't want to wear the standard medical patches anymore. So I looked for fashionable alternatives that really fit me. That's why I started making my own designs. Colorful, cheerful and above all non-medical.
When I saw how many children struggle with the same uncertainty, I came up with 'Tubie Friends'. Soft cuddly toys that help children get used to their own medical devices in a playful way. That's how Tubie Fashion came into being. Just at home at the kitchen table. From a small and personal idea: Help everyone with a tube or medical devices to feel beautiful, safe and confident again.
